Cent Gabriel's heartbeat increased as all eyes went to him on the assembly ground. Before he came out, he glanced at Simeon whose heart also began to beat shamefully because he knew what Cent would say on the plateau. Mrs Marvelous watched him until he stood before more than a thousand students whose mouths were closed but eyes and ears opened widely.
"Cent Gabriel" the principal began walking closer to him. "Can you tell us what happened yesterday? The chemical compound which was confirmed to be the cause of yesterday's crisis, how did it come about?"
Cent took his time before answering. Therefore, he bent his head down and said, "It was formed in the laboratory intentionally"
"With what combination of elements?!" Mr Jumbo shouted from aside.
"I don't know sir because i didn't bother to check. But it was a mixture of magnesium and the element which was part of Ellen's element"
"How dare you tamper with elements anyhow in the laboratory?!" the principal provoked. "Not all elements suppose to react! And so many of them are dangerous! Now, look at what you caused yesterday trying to bring down the name of this school!!" she paused staring at him likewise the students. "When was the practical?" she asked.
"A day before yesterday, ma" Cent replied.
"That means you were aware of the effect of the chemical"
"Yes, ma"
The Principal looked at all the teachers in a way that shows: ARE YOU THINKING WHAT I'M THINKING? Her eyes went back to Cent again. "You must have done something with somebody with the chemical, musn't you?" she asked.
"No, ma"
"Then how did you know the effect of it?"
Cent kept quiet still with his face down.
"Alright" the principal changed position. "What were you doing with the chemical in school yesterday?"
Cent kept quiet again thereby making the principal order the security men to flog him up. After a series of flogging which brought tears out from Cent's eyes, the principal repeated the question.
"I wanted to humiliate Ellen and Nath with the chemical" Cent confessed in tears.
"Heeeeyy!" the students shouted while Nath and Ellen looked at each other.
"I gave Simeon one to use it on Ellen because he wanted to get her as a girlfriend" Cent added then the students shouted again looking at the head-boy who bent his head down shamefully.
"Imaging!" the principal exclaimed surprisingly.
"Johnson come out here!" Mr Jumbo shouted.
Simeon gently walked out standing beside Cent on the plateau of the assembly ground. Meanwhile, students had been murmuring and mocking them.
"Head-boy, is what Cent said true?" the principal asked.
"Yes, ma" Simeon replied.
"Heeeyy!" students shouted again.
"This is serious!" the principal began looking at all the students who kept quiet instantly. "Teenagers like you have learnt all sort of bad things. How can you plan licentiousness against your fellow students at your age?! Even you, the senior prefect!" she turned to Simeon. "You are a disgrace to this school! Both of you!!" she paused angrily.
Some students folded their hands waiting for the final say of the principal while some murmured and smiled.
"This is your punishment" the principal began. "I don't want to see you in school for two weeks. You are on two weeks suspension, after which you'll come back with your parents and take your full punishments" she concluded then warned and counselled students against bad friendship and thought. "Stay away from nefarious attitude too" she concluded.

TWO WEEKS LATER
Simeon and Cent were seen cutting grasses on the football field as their last punishment after they had presented their parents. They kept cutting from morning till break period. Students, both senior and Junior watched them from different angle of the school environment. Even the four friends also watched them from the half-wall smiling seriously.
"This is what happens to those who put asunder on what God has joined together" Peace broke the silence.
"Who are you referring to?" Kennedy, who was standing beside her asked.
"The perfect couple of course" she replied.
Nath smiled hearing that coz he knew she was talking about him and Ellen. But Ellen didn't smile rather glared at her.
"Am i lying?" Peace spoke up looking at Ellen too. "Are both of you not perfect couple?" she added smiling thereby causing a smile on Ellen's face too.
Nath placed his hand on her shoulder romantically then Ellen looked at him with an attractive smile. "Is she lying?" he asked.
"Don't be silly, we are not married yet" Ellen replied then Kennedy and Peace laughed.
"I was just pulling your legs" Nath said.
"Pull my hands too" Ellen smiled.
"No, your hands is for marriage not for pulling" Nath added then all laughed.
"Get ready to give me your hand in marriage too" Kennedy told Peace.
"I will not only give you my hands but also my legs" she replied then they laughed again happily.......
